Supporting value-centered, quality education that embraces, inspires and respects each child.

In the Central City schools, children not only learn... they excel. Rising above social and economic barriers, our children are beating the odds, reaching new heights and fulfilling their dreams. And thanks to the Central City School Fund — and its donors — this opportunity is available to all children.

By supporting tuition assistance for needy and deserving children, Central City School Fund preserves a Catholic tradition of excellence in education for all children in our Central City Schools.

Our students come to school each day ready to learn.  The daily attendance rate is 95%.
The drop-out rate is less than 1%, for reasons other than finances.

The Central City Schools offer a quality academic experience and demonstrate strong academic achievement -- in the Catholic school tradition -- as well as providing a vibrant, sustainable educational community which supports children.

The Central City Schools work to

  • stabilize neighborhoods
  • model Christian values
  • welcome cultural diversity
  • provide accredited schools
  • attract and retain certified teachers
  • provide a strong basic education -- Our 'magnet program' or strength is reading, writing and arithmetic
  • form responsible citizens

With your support, this year we will assist more than 900 children.

Here are a few key facts about the families we serve:

  • average family size -- 3.9
  • average family income -- $20,721
  • percent of families living below poverty level -- 50%
  • percent of households headed by a single mother -- 42%
  • families assisted this year -- 402
  • children assisted this year -- 630 (67% of student body)
  • average tuition assistance grant -- $761
  • total tuition assistance -- $450,070

You can help give children a chance to break the cycle of poverty and realize their dreams. Your financial gift to The Central City School Fund will provide tuition assistance for the children of the Central City Schools.

It costs approximately $3,700 to educate a child for one year in the Central City Schools.  Studies show this is half the cost of public education.

  • $1,850 for one semester
  • $925 for one quarter
  • $115 for one week
  • $23 for one day
